While the 2026 class dominoes continue to fall, the Wisconsin football staff is hoping one such domino can be tipped back towards Madison.
Nick Reddish, a 2026 three-star defensive back, has been crystal balled as a potential Notre Dame commitment both holds strong connections with Virginia Tech and Wisconsin. Notre Dame recently had a strong of big-time commitments, and could be out on Reddish after landing Khary Adams, a four-star cornerback. Now, the time for the Wisconsin football staff to shine could be on the rise after previously hosting the recruit for an official visit.
The Wisconsin football staff has been involved with Reddish for quite some time and landing the recruit would be a trust test of whether or not the work has been put into developing a relationship with the athlete. Reddish has stated previously that the staff has kept a close eye on him and kept close contact as well, which bodes well for the program when decision time comes.
Reddish is currently one of the top remaining players on the 2026 board for Wisconsin after the program previously looked like a team on the outskirts. Making a comeback and landing Reddish over Notre Dame and Virginia Tech would be a pleasant boost for the program.
While the Wisconsin staff has other defensive backs on the board, none have quite the same reputation with the program that Reddish does, which goes a long way for the staff.
Some programs chase star ratings, some chase talent, and Wisconsin has worked to chase perfection off of the field. The Badgers aim to consistently stay out of trouble, and seeing a Wisconsin football player getting in some sort of off-field trouble is rare.
Reddish is not only one of the most talented players left on the board, but also someone who is the epitome of what the staff is looking for out of each athlete.
Reddish is expected to announce a collegiate commitment decision soon which should result in a boost to whichever class he joins. The defensive back is a natural safety but could switch over to a cornerback during his time in college.
