The Wisconsin football staff expects to hear back from multiple top remaining 2026 recruits as the commitment season is in full effect.

While some of the athletes such as Jamyan Theodore, Amari Latimer, and Jayden Petit have already announced decisions, Jowell Combay, Tony Forney, and Nick Reddish all remain. Reddish and Combay both have commitment dates locked-in while Forney is expected to commit to a program around the same time as his teammate Combay. Among the remaining recruits who are nearing commitment announcements, Reddish might be the player who the Badgers have the best chance of securing.

Can the Wisconsin Football Staff Secure Another Defensive Back Commitment?

While the Wisconsin football staff has already added Zachary Taylor, another commitment in the secondary could come in if the right work had been previously done by the staff.

Previously the Wisconsin Badgers felt as though Taylor was “the guy” within the 2026 class after committing to the program. Wisconsin is high on Taylor and felt excited to watch the athlete, which was a big reason as to why the staff went all in on the recruit. The Badgers backed off of all other defensive back recruits after securing a commitment from Taylor, and it is unclear whether or not the staff has tried to make any other late pushes.

For Reddish, however, the Wisconsin football staff has long kept a close relationship with the recruit who is also one of the longest standing members of the Badgers recruiting board. The 2026 class is loaded with talent, but the dynamic athleticism that Reddish offers has been a driver in the recruitment of the defensive back. While the Badgers pulled away from Reddish, Virginia Tech, Indiana, and Notre Dame all pulled closer.

The Wisconsin football program still has a slim chance of landing Reddish, but the commitment will come down to whether or not the staff had kept a close enough relationship with the recruit throughout the entire process.
