Wisconsin Football Lands Fifth 2026 Commitment Following Exciting Weekend
Jeff Hanisch-Imagn Images

The Wisconsin football staff has landed a fifth commitment in the 2026 class just days after picking up three in an afternoon.

Jack Janda, a talented three-star tight end, is a 2026 class gem in the eyes of the Wisconsin staff who worked tirelessly to land the tight end. Janda has held a Wisconsin scholarship offer for nearly a year and had previously seemed like a lock to stay in Michigan.

Both the Spartans and the Wolverines worked to keep Janda in-state, but the commitment from the Wisconsin staff from start to finish was key in landing the recruit. The Badgers have seen an array of commitments over the past few days, but to steal a recruit away from the heart of Michigan is a huge win.

Janda will join fellow three-star tight end Jack Sievers in the 2026 recruiting class for the Badgers, who committed to the program just two days ago. Sievers and Janda developed a close bond while visiting Madison and now have the chance to take the field together in the future.

Along with developing a close relationship with Sievers, both tight ends coach Nate Letton and offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes have also become close with Janda.

Wisconsin Football Staff Adds Jack Janda to the Growing 2026 Recruiting Class

While the Wisconsin football staff has landed another tight end already in the 2026 class, Janda offers a different perspective at the position for the team.

At 6-feet-5-inches, and 225-pounds, Janda is a very physical tight end with a solid burst of speed. The tight end also plays defensive end and naturally has developed a reputation as a player who is not afraid to initiate contact. Janda still has room to fill-out his frame as well, which could make for a dominant physical presence at the collegiate level.

As a blocker, Janda is extremely capable and can easily stand with big linebackers when the offense needs him to do so. Janda might not be the strongest tight end, but the physicality the tight end brings alongside his willingness to finish plays offers a bright future at the position.

As a receiver, Janda is more than comfortable making difficult catches given the big frame and sure hands he possesses. The tight end is able to make difficult plays that others at the position might struggle to make at times.

In Madison the tight end has the potential to become an excellent fit within the offense that Grimes is running. Wisconsin needs athletic, do-it-all players in the tight end room in order to truly allow the offense to blossom and a focus has been placed upon adding the correct talent. Janda certainly has all the tools to become a top-level tight end for the Wisconsin football program in the future.
