The Wisconsin football program has extended a new quarterback offer in the 2026 recruiting class.

Jonas Williams, an Illinois native, took to social media to announce that he had received an offer from UW.

According to the composite rankings, Williams is rated as a four-star prospect and the No. 159 player in the country, the No. 13 QB, and the No. 5 player in Illinois.

The 6-foot-3, 185-pound QB is now the fifth known quarterback offer in the 2026 cycle, along with Faizon Brandon, Dia Bell, Will Griffin, and Tait Reynolds.

Wisconsin is now the 21st school to extend an offer to Williams. UW will be battling some steep competition for his services, with notable schools including Ohio State, Michigan, LSU, Oklahoma, Oregon, Arkansas, Louisville, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Purdue, among others.

The New Lenox, Illinois native played his last two seasons at Bolingbrook High School, the former school of Wisconsin football freshman receiver Kyan Berry-Johnson. In his freshman campaign, Williams threw for 2,737 yards and 37 touchdowns. He then followed that up with a 2,950-yard and 31-touchdown season as a sophomore.

After two standout seasons at Bolingbrook, Williams announced he would attend Lincoln-Way East High School for his junior year.

The next step is to get Williams on campus for a visit to give a glimpse at what UW has to offer and begin forging a relationship. Phil Longo has a track record of success at developing quarterbacks, which the Badgers can lean into while giving their pitch.

The Wisconsin football program has yet to add a commitment in the 2026 recruiting cycle.
