Wisconsin got in early on Lateju, becoming the second school to extend an offer in May of 2023. Outside linebackers coach Matt Mitchell served as the primary recruiter for the New Jersey native, and he was able to shut down Lateju's recruitment in March.
Lateju chose the Badgers over offers from Syracuse, West Virginia, Pitt, Maryland, Wake Forest, Duke, and several others.
The Lawrenceville High School standout just completed his senior year, which marked his third year playing football. Though he is a bit newer to the game, Lateju has really shown some flashes of what he could become as an edge rusher. The 6-foot-5, 230-pound OLB shows a knack for getting around the edge quickly and blowing up run plays early. He's also technically sound with his ability to shed blocks and tackling ability. With some time to develop in the college ranks, Lateju could be a game-wrecker in the opposing backfield.
