Commitment to Wisconsin Football

Dean was one of the earlier commits for UW in the 2025 class, as he was the eighth player to give their pledge when he committed in April. After a good showing at camp, he was invited to attend a spring practice where he picked up an offer from Badgers co-defensive coordinator Alex Grinch, and announced he would stay home shortly after.

The Neenah native committed to Wisconsin early in his recruitment and chose the Badgers over offers from Northern Illinois, Army, Wyoming, and North Dakota State. Minnesota and Iowa State also showed some interest prior to his commitment.

Dean is a true athlete, playing as a running back, defensive back, and returner at Neenah High School. His experience all over the field gives him a leg up, but he projects as a safety at the next level. Dean possesses good ball skills and a well-rounded tackling ability. He can hurt you in multiple ways by breaking up passes, getting downhill and blowing up run plays, and by preventing the top from coming off the defense with his coverage ability. The Neenah standout could be in line for some early reps with the special teams units, but give him some time to develop more, and Dean could be a solid piece in Wisconsin's defensive backfield.
