The Wisconsin football staff is in the midst of holding productive camps for top recruits who received invites to test their skills.
Amongst the players testing is in-state 2028 star JJ Chapman, a highly touted quarterback who has quickly risen to fame within the 2028 class. Chapman is an Oak Creek, Wisconsin native who has drawn interest from programs such as the Badgers, Minnesota, Notre Dame, Purdue, and Toledo.
The strong-armed quarterback currently holds two early scholarship offers from Toledo and Purdue. Wisconsin has become a program that has been in position to offer Chapman, and likely could after another season is under the belt of the quarterback.
While the Wisconsin football staff has not yet offered a scholarship to Chapman, the top recruit in the state will likely receive an offer following the completion of this upcoming season.
Camp is a great time for Chapman to show what has been improved upon and potential earn a scholarship on the spot. However, given the track record Wisconsin has had with other recruits, the Badgers might play the long game and hope to develop a relationship with the recruit first. The Wisconsin football staff has previously used scholarships as rewards for performing well on the field and that tactic could still be in use as the team carefully manages where the offers are extended.
For Chapman, the future is all about counting to play as a free-flowing quarterback on the field without a fear. When Chapman is relaxed, the quarterback showcases excellent dual-threat abilities along with a lively arm. Given the right amount of time, development, and game reps, Chapman could certainly blossom into one of the top quarterbacks in the 2028 recruiting class.
