WNBA Rookie Angel Reese Has 1 Michael Jordan Wish For Her Birthday
Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese just turned 22 as the new WNBA season is about to start soon. For her birthday, though, the former LSU Tigers star reveals Michael Jordan can attend one game so she can meet the NBA legend in person.

Reese first made a name for herself in college she first played for Maryland during the 2020-21 NCAA season. During that time, she only averaged a measly 10.0 points on 46 percent shooting from the field, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game.

Reese would eventually leave Maryland and enter the transfer portal after her second year there. The 6’3″ forward then chose LSU and immediately made an impact for the team. During the NCAA Tournament itself, the Tigers’ new star then notched 23.1 points, 16.9 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game. Ultimately, Reese won the big one when she led LSU to the championship in 2023.

The following season, though, Reese and the Tigers fell to a Caitlin Clark-led Iowa Hawkeyes team in March Madness, effectively ending their campaign for a second consecutive ring. Iowa, in turn, lost to the South Carolina Gamecocks last March, marring Clark’s impressive final year in college along the way.

Both Reese and Clark declared for the WNBA Draft after their respective college stints. The latter went first with the Indiana Fever drafting her, while the Tigers star was selected by the Chicago Sky using the seventh pick.

Chicago Sky Rookie Angel Reese Reveals Michael Jordan Wish For Her Birthday

Just recently, Reese celebrated her 22 birthday, the first wearing a Sky uniform. For this event, the Chicago star wished the city’s legend, Michael Jordan, to attend one game so she can meet him, as seen in a video shared by GNSportsTV on X:

Jordan is hailed as the league’s greatest player after leading the Chicago Bulls to six championships in an era where there are 27 to 29 teams playing. He also won various accolades, such as six Finals MVPs, 10 scoring titles, and 14 All-Star Game selections, while breaking a lot of records along the way.

It remains to be seen whether Jordan will make Reese’s wish come true at any point of the season. What’s certain, though, is that the Sky will make full use of her, along with rookie center Kamilla Cardoso, to bring their team back to the top.
