WWE’s latest PLE, Clash in Paris, has broken some attendance records for the Paris La Défense Arena. The event, which was headlined by Seth Rollins defending his WWE Heavyweight Championship against CM Punk, LA Knight, and Jey Uso, had a record of 30,343 fans.

The attendance record for Clash in Paris was announced by WWE’s French broadcaster Philippe Chéreau. After the attendance news, WWE commentator Michael Cole revealed that WWE set a single event gate record for the La Défense Arena that was once held by one of the most famous singer-songwriters.
The previous record was set in May 2024 by pop icon Taylor Swift with her Eras Tour concert. That’s a big feat considering Swift is the highest-grossing live music artist, and normally, she’s the one who breaks the records. It does help that WWE and France have a good rapport when talking about crowds. As noted, John Cena spoke about how WWE’s best modern crowd is in Lyon, France. This past Friday’s episode of SmackDown took place in the area. Anyway, maybe WWE could have the "Look What You Made Me Do" singer one day perform at WrestleMania or SummerSlam. Now that would be a huge record-breaking event!
WWE breaking a record that was once held by Swift wasn't the only shocking thing to happen tonight. The last main roster PLE to stream on Peacock for US audiences has had some pretty intense moments. The first shocking moment was the attack that happened on Roman Reigns after he defeated The Vision’s Bronson Reed. Post-match, Bron Breakker came out of nowhere and speared Reigns through the announce table. He then speared him again, while Reed hit multiple tsunami splashes on Reigns. Reigns was taken out of the building on a stretcher, making a huge statement that Reed and Breakker are more dangerous than ever.
Back to John Cena. Cena, who is on the last leg of his retirement tour, got the win over Logan Paul. Post-match, the crowd gave a standing ovation to Cena. Cena’s wife was also in the crowd, and he kissed her. It was an amazing moment for the future WWE Hall of Famer. The show ended with one of the most surprising moments of the night — Becky Lynch helped her husband retain his WWE Heavyweight Title by attacking CM Punk.
Paul Heyman, Breakker, and Reed were blocked from helping Rollins, so his backup plan was "The Man." Punk was literally seconds away from winning the title that he lost at SummerSlam because of Rollins, but Lynch showed up and delivered a devastating low blow. It seems that Rollins has been getting the best of Punk since he screwed him and Roman Reigns over at WrestleMania 41. The next stop is WWE's move to ESPN DTC service with Wrestlepalooza on September 20.
