WWE honored six-time world champion and two-time Hall of Famer Booker T on Tuesday night’s edition of NXT in Houston, Texas.
The in-ring celebration was hosted by Vic Joseph, who called Booker “the best broadcast colleague he’s ever had.” Booker was joined by his family, including fellow Hall of Famer Sharmell, along with students from Reality of Wrestling—the Houston-based promotion he runs.
As a lifelong Booker T fan, this was appointment viewing. WWE deserves credit for putting together a fitting tribute, highlighted by a strong video package. While it wasn’t a full career retrospective like his Hall of Fame induction, it was intentionally focused on his impact in NXT—bringing unmatched energy to the broadcast and instilling confidence in younger talent, both on and off screen.
Booker was visibly moved, brought to tears in the ring.
But before he could say much, the moment was interrupted.
Enter Keanu Carver.
Carver is a former football player who signed with WWE in 2023. He previously competed on NXT Level Up, a developmental show originally created to spotlight emerging and lower-card talent. That platform has since evolved into newer concepts like LFG and Evolve, both of which Carver has appeared on. He is currently 27 years old.
On LFG (Legends & Future Greats), which airs Sunday nights on A&E, Booker and Carver were shown clashing in a series of heated exchanges. While the show blends scripted elements with reality, their tension feels grounded in something real.
Carver carries himself with an arrogant, loud-mouthed heel persona—one that, at times, comes across as unteachable. That dynamic led to Booker bluntly telling him he would “never make it here.”

And yet, Carver’s interruption on Booker’s NXT appreciation night said something entirely different.
It screamed opportunity.
There’s an undeniable presence about him. The kind that immediately commands attention. In a business built on blurring the line between reality and performance, Carver seems to live right in that space.

If you’re not paying attention to Keanu Carver yet, now might be the time to start.
Because he may not just “make it” in WWE—he could become a major player.
