Lil Wayne is not only known as a remarkable rapper but is also a crazy NFL aficionado. Recently, Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Jr., made an appearance on ‘The Travis Hunter Show’, where he had nothing but A-grade things to say about the former Colorado Buffaloes wide receiver/cornerback.
Travis Hunter is expected to be one of the top prospects in the 2025 NFL draft, along with his Colorado teammate Shedeur Sanders. Hunter is touted to be up there in the first round list and has also admitted that he will only play for a team that will allow him to play in the dual roles of cornerback and wide receiver.
“What you doing, they love it the most. Travis, what you’re doing is being you, you know what I mean, like it’s so obvious that you’re not influenced by anything. It’s so obvious that you’re not siding, you’re not swayed, you’re not swaying your moves that you’re making in your personal life, is showing these people who you are.” Lil Wayne said on ‘The Travis Hunter Show’ on Monday.
Lil Wayne has always been vocal about his love for the NFL. In fact, he also seemed quite eager to perform in the Super Bowl Halftime show. However, despite him making many attempts to get in, the esteemed rapper has not been offered the privilege of performing in the popular event.
On another note, Travis Hunter will be awaiting his next NFL team which will be decided in a couple of days. Hunter split his college football career between the Colorado Buffaloes and the Jackson State Tigers before that. In his senior year with Colorado, Hunter managed a total of 96 receptions for 1,258 yards, scoring 15 touchdowns for the team.
While many sympathized with Lil Wayne for the rapper being unable to perform in the 2024 NFL season’s halftime show, a certain percentage also trolled him for the same. Some time back, Lil Wayne was interviewed by Rolling Stone, where he expressed his disappointment in not being selected by the league to perform in the show.
He also mentioned that he would not watch the Halftime show where Kendrick Lamar performed. However, later on, Lil Wayne admitted that he and Lamar are all good with each other and have no beef. Some social media users trolled Lil Wayne for apparently having a ‘victim mentality’ and also for being entitled.
