The NBA Finals MVP award is right up there when it comes to prestige, and it was first introduced all the way back in 1969. The award has now been handed out 57 times, with Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander becoming just the 36th different winner in 2025.
Jaylen Brown had taken home the award the year prior, and Nikola Jokic had done so before him. That's easy enough to remember, but can you name the winner for each year? Well, young Chase Coburn, host of Chase's Sports News, did just that on Makeshift Hoops in 42 seconds and went viral.
That's remarkable for a child. NBA fans couldn't believe that Coburn got all of them right.
"Ain’t no way, that was insane," one fan was stunned.
"If the planet’s survival is decided upon an NBA trivia, we're sending these guys," a fan would back Coburn with the fate of the world on the line.
"That’s tough and in order, too," one was full of praise for Coburn.
"Unbelievable video, salute to the kid!! That's impressive. Gun to my head couldn't name you past '87 maybe. After that, consider me a goner," a fan admitted he would have been lost once the mid-1980s came around.
"Lil bro gotta have a script in them glasses or something," one fan thought Coburn had to be cheating here.
"This is the type of ball knowledge that I want to have someday," a fan hopes to be this knowledable one day.
Coburn stated he had taken a quiz a couple of times a few years ago and had memorized the winners as a result. To still remember it and give the answers so quickly is impressive. Coburn is making a name for himself in the sports media world, and who knows, he might get to the very top someday.
