Will Bryson DeChambeau be one of the next of golf's big names to join the controversial LIV Golf Series? Erik Williams-USA TODAY Sports

Bryson DeChambeau, Rickie Fowler, Patrick Reed expected to join LIV Golf?

Dustin Johnson and Louis Oosthuizen joined a growing list of big-time men's golfers to bolt the PGA Tour and sign up with the controversial LIV Golf Series on Tuesday. It looks like there are three more notable names set to jump ship on Wednesday.

The inaugural event for the breakaway league begins on Thursday at the Centurion Club, with the second tournament in Portland, Ore., starting later this month. The LIV Golf Series is funded by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund and has drawn criticism from hosts of other PGA Tour members, though some of them have now joined the very league they previously criticized.

DeChambeau captured the 2020 PGA Championship for his only major victory, but he has eight total wins on the PGA Tour. Fowler has had multiple runner-up finishes in major tournaments — most recently at the 2018 Masters — but has never taken first place.

Fowler has five first-place finishes in PGA Tour events. Reed won the 2018 Masters for his only major title and has nine PGA Tour wins.

Others joining DeChambeau, Fowler, Reed, Johnson, Oosthuizen and Mickelson in the LIV Golf Series include Kevin Na, Sergio Garcia, Branden Grace and Charl Schwartzel.
