Brooks Koepka, a five-time major champion, will not compete for LIV Golf in 2026. On Tuesday, Koepka’s management team announced that he’s leaving LIV Golf to be with his family and stay closer to home.

“Brooks Koepka will be stepping away from LIV Golf,” according to a statement from his management team released by LIV Golf, per Sports Illustrated. “He is deeply grateful to Yasir Al-Rumayyan (the governor of the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund, (LIV CEO) Scott O’Neil, and the LIV Golf leadership team, his teammates, and the fans.

“Family has always guided Brooks’ decisions, and he feels this is the right moment to spend more time at home. Brooks will continue to be a huge supporter of LIV Golf and wishes the league and its players continued success. Brooks remains passionate about the game of golf and will keep fans updated on what’s ahead.”

Koepka had one year remaining on his contract with LIV Golf. He did not have a strong 2025 season, as he did not win any tourmanets and he missed the cut in three of the four major championships. In his personal life, Koepka’s wife, Jenna, suffered a miscarriage earlier this year.

Now the question is, what’s the next move for Koepka? Will he try to return to the PGA Tour full-time? Shortly after Koepka’s announcement, the PGA Tour released a statement.

PGA Tour comments on Brooks Koepka

“Brooks Koepka is a highly accomplished professional, and we wish him and his family continued success,” the PGA Tour said. “The PGA Tour continues to offer the best professional golfers the most competitive, challenging, and lucrative environment in which to pursue greatness.”

It’s not likely that he will return to the PGA Tour since the organization has suspened players who competed in LIV Golf events. But even if that doesn’t happen, Koepka can still compete in the four major tournaments since he won the PGA Championship and U.S. Open.

Overall, Koepka has won the PGA Championship three times (2018, 2019, 2023) and the U.S. Open twice (2017, 2018). The 35-year-old has finished tied for second at the Masters twice (2019, 2023) and finished tied for fourth at the British Open in 2019.
