Brooks Koepka: Golf without fans will be 'awful'

The PGA Tour is scheduled to resume June 11 at Colonial, and the first four events are scheduled to be played with no fans in attendance, and Brooks Koepka is not a fan of playing golf with no fans in attendance.

“It’s going to be awful without fans,” Koepka said on the "Pardon My Take" podcast, according to Yahoo Sports. “The energy that the fans bring, that’s what we all live for, we all strive for; it’s going to be so weird,” Koepka said. “You want to play coming down the stretch and have everyone cheering for you. Imagine this: you sink the putt on the last hole and no one’s clapping. You’re just there by yourself, and you’re like ‘yes!’ Just you, your caddie and just silence.”

The Charles Schwab Challenge is hopeful to begin June 11-14 at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas. The RBC Heritage, which was canceled, has been put back on the schedule and will follow the Schwab Challenge on June 18-21. The Travelers Championship will follow from June 25-28. Golf isn't the only sport that's been affected by the coronavirus pandemic -- there's still no tentative return date for the NFL, NHL, MLB, NBA or MLS.

While the major sports leagues are continuing to evaluate all of their options, it doesn't sound like fans will be allowed to attend events anytime soon.
