Bryson DeChambeau's Parents, Jan and Jon, Provide Inspiration for Masters Contender
Michael Madrid-USA TODAY Network

Bryson DeChambeau's parents, Jon and Jan DeChambeau, witnessed the ups and downs of the golfer's career. Unfortunately, Bryson's dad Jon died in Nov. 2022, after a long battle with health challenges.

Bryson's mom Jan remains the golfer's biggest fan as the family endured tragedy by leaning on each other.  The star is from Modesto, Calif., before playing collegiately for the SMU Mustangs in Dallas, Texas.

"Love you Dad," Bryson noted in a Nov. 5, 2022, message on X. "(I'm) sad to see you go but you've been through way too much pain in this life.

"I'm so happy you are at peace. Now you get to be with me and watch me at every event I play. Thank you for being an amazing Dad and I'll see you in the next life."

Bryson's mom is a bit superstitious. Jan was absent when Bryson won the 2024 U.S. Open as his mom did not want to impact her son's chances at securing the trophy.

"Spoke with Bryson’s Mom, Jan Dechambeau who watched from her home in California," Golf Channel's Todd Lewis explained with a June 16, 2024, message on X. "She purposefully didn’t come because the only time she skipped the @usopengolf he won, which was at Winged Foot. Said she thought about her husband Jon Dechambeau all day. Jon passed in 2022."

Bryson headed into the final round of the 2025 Masters in contention. The star golfer revealed that he planned to spend time with family on the eve of the final round of the Masters.

"Definitely the most important thing is going back and relaxing and having a fun, enjoyable night," DeChambeau told reporters on Saturday. "You know, just hanging out with my friends and family, and just being myself.

"Keep being myself. When I'm more of myself, I feel like I can keep going no matter what. It's the times where you have to put on a face or do something or whatever that you don't feel like you can keep going," DeChambeau continued.

"So for me, the more I can just be myself, the longer I can go."
