Charlie Woods took the first step towards what could be a tremendous professional golf career on Wednesday.
In this week's Team TaylorMade Invitational the son of the legendary Tiger Woods won his first ever American Junior Golf Association event, shooting 15-under and clearing the rest of the 71-player field by three shots.

Woods beat out a number of high-ranking amateurs with his dominant display. Including AJGA No. 1 Miles Russell and the highly-touted Luke Colton, who shot 8-under and 12-under respectively.
Charlie finished the final round with eight birdies after shooting 65 and 66 the past couple of days to secure his first victory just 16-years-old.
This was Woods' fifth AJGA tournament and it was a major milestone for him after never finishing higher than 25th in his previous outings.
Charlie reportedly came into the TaylorMade Invitational No. 606 in the AJGA rankings, which will definitely change the next time they're updated.
As the son of arguably the greatest golfer ever, Woods has enormous shoes to fill. But if he can keep developing at his own pace and continue to work on his game there's no reason to believe he can't be a name to watch on the Tour one day.
He'll add this victory to his first win in the 14-15-year-old category at the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour's Major Championship in 2023 and the Last Chance Regional later that year.
