Commissioner Jay Monahan shares updates on ‘constructive’ conversation regarding PGA Tour’s meeting with PIF governor Yasir Al-Rumayyan

Unsurprisingly, Monahan has maintained that stance once again. The 53-year-old remained tight-lipped over any major details. As per reports from NBC Sports, Monahan shared a message to the Tour and claimed that there had been a “constructive” conversation between the parties involved to find the best possible investors for the newly formed entity, PGA Tour Enterprises.

The conversation throughout was constructive and represents an important part of our due diligence process in selecting potential investors for PGA Tour Enterprises... During the session, Yasir had a chance to introduce himself to our player directors and talk through his vision, priorities and motivations for investing in professional golf. The golf top boss further claimed that no further comments will be made on this matter until the negotiation process is completed. The way things have been going, it is likely that the April deadline of the merger will be further extended.

Tiger Woods reported to tee off with Yasir Al-Rumayyan

As the PGA Tour and PIF continue to work on finding solutions to work together in the future, the spotlight has firmly been on important figures such as Jay Monahan, Yasir Al-Rumayyan and golf great Tiger Woods. Every action this people take have been observed carefully as the future of golf lies in their hand. According to reports from Dan Rapaport, Woods is now supposed to have teed off with the Saudi official at his Albany course after the meeting was shifted to Bahamas.

Taking to his X account, Rapaport wrote:

There is one major catch though. The report does not state whether they have already played or are scheduled to play which has left many confused. However, Woods and Al-Rumayyan teeing off together could be seen as a positive sign for things to come in the future.

The playing of Woods can also be taken as a sign that he indeed is healthy which could allow him to return to the golf course. The 48-year-old was a key name missing from The Players Championship this past week after he did not participate in the event. With the Masters lined up in April, this event could be the one which he targets as his next appearance.
