Golf icon Phil Mickelson is nowhere to be found, and the speculation about his future grows by the day. Mickelson, who switched from the PGA Tour to LIV Golf in 2022, has not played in a LIV Golf event this season.
Initially, the six-time major winner announced he would miss the first two events of the season in Riyadh and Adelaide. The absence extended to a third event, as he missed the most recent stop in Hong Kong. Additionally, he will miss the HyFlyers’ event in Singapore this week.
Ollie Schniederjans replaced him as a reserve in Riyadh, while Wade Ormsby filled in for Mickelson in Australia during the captain’s first absence.
It is unclear what happened to Phil Mickelson. He announced he would miss time due to a private family health matter. His 2026 schedule is all over the place after his recent absences. Schniederjans and Ormsby joined Michael La Sasso, Cameron Tringale and Brendan Steele, the rest of the HyFlyers.
The next big event begins on 9 April. The Masters won’t give Mickelson a long time to return to his best level. While Tiger Woods left the door open for a return at Augusta National, the picture looks blurrier when it comes to Mickelson.
The 55-year-old made 12 starts last season, recording three top 10 finishes.
