Tommy Fleetwood experienced a rollercoaster of emotions following his second-place finish at the 2025 Travelers Championship, where he led for an impressive 71 holes before ultimately falling short to Keegan Bradley. Standing on the 18th green at TPC River Highlands, he held a one-stroke lead, but ultimately, once again, fell just short of victory. Fleetwood reflected on a round that had begun with promise but was marred by critical missed opportunities.
“From where I was, I should at least be in a playoff,” Fleetwood lamented, speaking candidly about his final round. Throughout the day, the Englishman battled with his game’s inconsistencies. He pinpointed key moments, particularly the second shot and putt on the last hole, remarking that, “It’s a crappy way to finish,” expressing frustration about the shots that left him with “work to do” in the closing holes.
The day had not started poorly for Fleetwood. In fact, he felt good about his overall play early on; however, errors crept in during pivotal moments, particularly a pair of early three-putts that derailed his rhythm.
“I felt like I scrapped well,” he said, but acknowledged the challenge of maintaining control amid shifting conditions. “It was tough,” Fleetwood continued. “I didn’t feel like I was playing too poorly, but it was a very different day condition-wise.”
Despite his disappointment, Fleetwood also acknowledged the overwhelming support he received from the crowd throughout the tournament. “I always feel like I have amazing support,” he commented. While it was clear that many fans were rooting for Bradley, Fleetwood felt the crowd appreciated his effort and skill as well: “I enjoyed playing, it was a great atmosphere to play in. It really was.”
Reflecting on yet another significant near-miss in his career, a scenario not unfamiliar to him, Fleetwood remarked that he hasn’t been in this position in quite a while. “I haven’t been in this situation for a while. I think, you know, when it sort of calms down...I’ll look at the things that I did well.”
The 32-year-old has consistently competed at high levels but is still in pursuit of that elusive first PGA Tour victory.

“It hurts,” he admitted when discussing the weight of expectation that follows such close calls. “I did plenty of things well enough this week to win, I didn’t do that.”
As he processes this outcome, Fleetwood is choosing to focus on the positives moving forward. “There’s just no point making it a negative for the future really,” he asserted. “I just want to make sure that I can put myself in this position as soon as possible again and try and correct what I did this time.”
