Florida governor wants Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson to 'do the golf'

Hopefully, professional sports will resume in the coming months, but nothing is guaranteed. However, Florida's governor Ron DeSantis wants to see sports return sooner rather than later ... specifically with Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson squaring off in golf.

“If NASCAR does a race and can televise it, without large crowds, I think that’s a good thing,” DeSantis said, according to Sean Zak of Golf.com. “I’d like to see Woods and Mickelson do the golf, or whatever, because that’s social distance.”

It's odd that DeSantis mentions Woods and Mickelson, especially considering he wants them to "do the golf, or whatever."

The Florida governor reigns over arguably one of the best golf states in the nation, and it seems he knows little about the sport. However, he said no one would be in attendance for the match and he'd like to see it aired on television.

While golf fans are starved for content, the PGA Tour will reportedly resume in June ... so at least that's a good thing for fans of the sport.

If the PGA Tour goes well, maybe we'll see other sports resume in the near future.
