On June 26-28, the greatest players in LPGA history and some celebrity guests will compete in the 2025 Legends of the LPGA Celebrity Charity Golf Tournament at the Monster Golf Club (Monster) at Resorts World Catskills in Monticello, New York.
The three-day event will honor local first responders and raise money for the Grateful Hearts Foundation, a charity focused on helping young adults who have aged out of the foster care system.
“We’re thrilled to welcome the LPGA Legends and their fans to Monster Golf Club this June,” said Monster Golf Club Director of Golf Uri Jimenez. “It’s an honor to host some of the game’s most iconic players, and we’re especially excited to see how the new layout performs under tournament conditions. It’s going to be a fantastic showcase of championship golf.”
The tournament symbolizes the reemergence of New York’s Catskill Mountains region as a premier golf destination.
“And, thanks to a $40 million transformation led by architect Rees Jones, The Monster Golf Club is once again the place to play in the Catskills. The former Concord Monster Course, once listed as a Golf Digest Top 100 golf course, had been closed for play since 2015 before Jones was brought in to completely redesign the golf course in 2018,” according to a release.
The “new” Monster was unveiled for public play in September 2023.
“During the nearly five-year redesign project, Jones used holes and corridors from the former Monster Golf Course, originally designed by Joe Finger in 1963, and the Old International Course to create the all-new 18-hole layout,” according to the release.
The new and improved par 72 course plays at 7,327 yards from the “Monster Tees,” but during the Legends tournament, the course will be set up at 6,200 yards.
“During the tournament, LPGA Legends will be paired with Hudson Valley first responders, to honor their commitment to keeping our communities safe,” according to the release.
The event will also feature three-time NFL Pro Bowler Bob Golic as master of ceremonies. He will host the tournament dinner and be among the many celebrities participating.
The event kicks off June 26 with a pro-am, followed by the first-round competition and the First Responder Challenge on June 27, before the final round tees off the following day.
