Former LSU Golfer & PGA Winner Set to Tee it up at The Masters on Thursday
Michael Madrid

Former LSU golfer and PGA Tour winner, Sam Burns, is set to tee it up at The Masters for the fourth time in his career this Thursday.

Former LSU Tiger, Sam Burns, is set to take on one of the toughest challenges the sport of golf has to offer for the fourth time in his career. He's teeing it up with two of the hottest names in golf - Sepp Straka and Sahith Theegala - at 12:45pm CT on Thursday afternoon.

In his three previous appearances at Augusta National, Burns has made the cut just one time and finished T-29 in 2023. He made 150,100 dollars with that finish. His lowest round at Augusta came in round one of 2023 when he shot an incredible 68 before going 71-78-72 to finish out the weekend.

Burns is a five-time PGA Tour winner with his last victory coming in 2023 when he won the World Golf Championships-Dell Technologies Match Play event. He won three times in the 2021-2022 season when he was victorious in the Charles Schwab Challenge, Valspar Championship and the Sanderson Farms Championship.

Burns currently has +12000 odds to win The Masters, meaning a 100 dollar wager would pay out 12,000 dollars.

Burns comes into the weekend having missed the cut in his last three events after making the cut in his first six to start the year. He's not one of the favorites and certainly doesn't have the best track record around Augusta, but he's experienced, and that always counts for something.
