One of the top players in his class, 2026 wide receiver Mason James, is down to five schools remaining in his recruitment.

James is focusing on a group that includes Kansas State, Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas, and Washington. His official announcement is set for Wednesday, June 25th.

Coming out of Norman North in the Class of 2026, James is listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 181st-ranked player. He also checks in as the 25th-ranked player at his position and the second-ranked player in the state of Oklahoma (On3 has him at No. 1 in OK).

James, a 5-foot-11 wideout from Oklahoma, has set official visits to Missouri, Washington, Texas, and Oklahoma, and has visited Arizona State. Kansas State is the lone school yet to receive an official visit from James, in his Top 5.

An impressive player in his class, the Oklahoma native received offers from 29 different programs. Some high-profile teams that were eliminated from his search include Oregon, Alabama, Texas A&M, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Miami, Michigan, Arizona, Baylor, Kansas, Oklahoma State, and more.
