Tyrrell Hatton is the hottest golfer on the planet.
So much for how the LIV Golf League is unsuitable for a player's success.
But let’s not digress.
The last six events for the Englishman have been on fire with a T10-Win-2-6-5-Win.
Moving from 38th in the world rankings to the top 10 after the one-shot victory over Daniel Hillier from New Zealand, Hatton has been on an ascent during what should be the sweet spot of his career, and all this is in a mere 112 days.
Back at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, Hatton talked about beating a good field in an event he watched on television as a kid. He considered it an elite tournament on the DP World Tour, just below a major victory.
“From growing up watching this event as a kid, waking up early before going to school and trying to make out ills so I could stay at home so I could watch the golf at home all day, to now playing and going on to win the tournament is an amazing feeling,” Hatton said. “To win such an iconic event is so special, and I'm very proud to be the champion.”
A year ago, Hatton’s future was scrutinized. Word was out that the then-32-year-old was contemplating leaving the DP World Tour for LIV and Jon Rahm’s Legion XIII team.
After a successful LIV season, during which he earned over $10 million in winnings, including a LIV Nashville victory, Hatton looks to his second LIV season. He will not play in another DP World Tour event except for the four majors until the Irish Open in September.
“This event and the four majors this year are massive for me to try and earn as many points as I can to try and be an automatic qualifier,” Hatton said about his ability to capture one of the six automatic spots on the European Ryder Cup team. “This is a big step in the right direction. So happy with that and looking forward to the rest of the year.”
As good as Hatton has handled the last year, even he can be nervous during a final round, admitting to sheer relief when the six-footer went in on the last hole for his eighth DP World Tour victory and fifth ROLEX Series title.
But he doesn’t believe he needs to prove anything to European Captain Luke Donald and how his game stacks up.
“Luke and Dodo and sort of the backroom staff, they kind of know what kind of golf that I can produce,” Hatton said when asked about making the Ryder Cup team. “Ultimately, I'm just going out there and trying my best every single week, and I'm really happy to have won again so close to the Dunhill. Because I went 3 1/2 years of not winning tournaments.”
Despite all of Hatton's experience, he believed his wins continued to provide confidence and essential proof that he could overcome the obstacles.

He returns to his second full season on LIV next month in Saudi Arabia to build on what he has accomplished over the last three months, with hopes for a Ryder Cup birth.
“It did actually cross my mind, I can't remember, it was on one of the last few holes,” Hatton said about gaining points for the Ryder Cup. “It randomly popped into my head thinking about, it would be nice to get over the line because I need the points. That was just like a random thought as I looked at the leaderboard. I think it was on the 17th green, actually. So yeah, I mean, this week was massive for me. The last few events last year on the DP World Tour were huge for me as well in terms of trying to earn the points that I need to.”

Longtime Maple Leafs Defenseman in Serious Contract Dispute With His New Team
The longtime former Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Conor Timmins is in a serious contract dispute with his new team, the Buffalo Sabres. Nobody appears happy to stay with the Buffalo Sabres organization. Most of the talented players on the team were included in trade or free agency rumors, and now, Timmins doesn't appear too excited to sign with the team. Indeed, the Restricted Free Agent, who was traded by the Pittsburgh Penguins to the Sabres earlier this offseason for Connor Clifton and a second-round pick, isn't close to reaching a deal in Buffalo. With arbitration hearings set to take place over the coming days, Timmins and the Sabres are likely to meet for that reason soon. Unless a deal is reached before then, the hearing will take place on August 2nd. The Ontario native is coming off a rocky season, where he played 51 games for the Leafs and 17 more in Pittsburgh after being traded. In those 68 games, the 26-year-old defenseman tallied 15 points, including three goals. After seeing three players around the NHL reach deals before their hearing date, some fans hoped to see the Sabres and Timmins sign a contract soon, but multiple reports confirmed that there hasn't been any 'traction' between both camps. As of now, five more players are scheduled to have salary hearings. With the Sabres' reputation, it's not surprising to see that he appears reluctant to sign in Buffalo. Hopefully for their fans, massive changes will be done to the team to make sure they can attract top talent and convince them to stay with the team.

The World Junior Summer Showcase is in full swing, and Maple Leafs top prospect Ben Danford is shattering expectations, truly proving how good of a player he can be. The Toronto Maple Leafs' defensive prospect, Ben Danford, is among the 44 players who were invited to Hockey Canada's World Juniors Summer Showcase. Hockey Canada finally unveiled the 44 prospects who will head to Minnesota for the showcase, after they held the roster release back while the organization dealt with several injuries, which begins Sunday and runs through August 2 in Minneapolis. Defensive prospect Ben Danford is the only Maple Leafs player invited to the annual showcase, where Canada's World Junior staff will get their first look at what their team might look like for the 2026 World Juniors, which will also take place in Minnesota in December. Danford is being called the best player at the World Juniors Summer Showcase Danford has been exceeding expectations, and one source revealed that he has been the best player at the World Junior Showcase so far. The 6-foot-2 Danford could make for an excellent fit for Canada should he make the team. He is responsible in his own end, and he demonstrated leadership capabilities when he was named captain of the Oshawa Generals ahead of the 2024-25 OHL season.

When Aaron Rodgers appeared at the Kentucky Derby on May 2, 2025, he was in the middle of a storm. The storm of rumors, speculations, and predictions was everywhere when no one knew if and when he was going to land in the Pittsburgh Steelers locker room. Green Bay Packers: 2x Pro Bowler Elgton Jenkins Reveals True Feelings on Position Change, Contract Rumors
One of the biggest stories surrounding the Green Bay Packers this offseason has been the position change, and following absences, of two-time Pro Bowl left guard Elgton Jenkins. Early in the spring, it was quite clear that Green Bay had no intention of bringing back 2021 second round pick Josh Myers, who had been the Packers’ starting center since he was drafted. He ended up signing a one-year prove-it deal with the New York Jets. With Myers no longer in the fold, many wondered who the Packers would have play center. Zach Tom has long mentioned as a potential option there, as has second-year lineman Jacob Monk. But, to the shock of many, Green Bay opted to move Jenkins, who (as mentioned) is a two-time Pro Bowl left guard, to the position. They also signed Aaron Banks to a four-year $77 million contract to fill the hole left at left guard with Jenkins moving to center. It Was Reported that Green Bay Packers Star Elgton Jenkins Was Holding Out for a Revised Contract After the Packers announced that Jenkins was going to be moving to center while Banks would be entrenched at left guard, there were a series of reports that came out the two-time Pro Bowler was not happy. It was not that he minded the position switch. After all, he played center in college and filled in at the position in 2021 when Myers was out with an injury. Instead, these reports stated that Jenkins was concerned that the position switch would affect his earning capabilities in the NFL after his contract in Green Bay comes to an end. Centers do not make as much money as guards, and it was believed that Jenkins wanted some extra guarantees from the Packers in exchange for making the switch. And when Jenkins did not report to Green Bay for OTA’s and mandatory mini camp, fans began to worry that they had a real contract holdout on their hands. This was assumed to be the case, too, when Jenkins started training camp on the non-football injury list. Jenkins returned to practice on Tuesday, participating in individual drills only as he ramps up his activity. He had injured his back lifting weights during the offseason, which is why he started camp on the NFI. As for OTA’s, well, he had some family matters to attend to: As Ryan Wood notes, Jenkins spoke the Packers twice this offseason. The first time when they asked him about switching positions, and the second when he told them he would. What is more, per Wood, Jenkins has been planning a move to center for some time now: This is great news for Green Bay, who will be relying on Jenkins as their longest-tenured lineman, again, to lead the group tasked with protecting Jordan Love and opening holes for the run game.
