Amid all the rumors surrounding LIV Golf’s future during its event in Mexico, it was Jon Rahm who made all the headlines with his dominant win.
The World No. 20 dominated from the start and held a two-shot lead heading into the final round over Tyrrell Hatton, his Legion XIII teammate. What followed was a bogey-free final round and a “procession” for the Spaniard.
“If you were to tell me last week on Thursday afternoon that I’ll be winning by a six-shot margin this week, I would not believe you because of how bad I played. You need a lot of fight,” said Rahm.

Rahm had a Masters to forget before heading to Club de Golf Chapultepec. The 2023 Green Jacket winner posted his worst opening round at Augusta National and finished tied for 38th.
LIV Golf came under heavy scrutiny after the Masters, as LIV golfers were left far behind the PGA Tour pros on the leaderboard, except for Hatton, who finished tied for third. Rahm and company were heavily criticized by the golf community.
“I made a lot of those putts inside 10 feet. Overall, I did everything well this week. Yeah, h*** of an effort and what a Sunday,” Rahm added.
On the final day of LIV Golf Mexico, Rahm shot a bogey-free 7-under 64. The 31-year-old finished with a final score of 21-under par, securing a comfortable six-shot victory over his compatriot, David Puig.
Club de Golf Chapultepec became the venue for his second individual title of the season. With the victory, Rahm overtook World No. 28 Bryson DeChambeau in total wins on the LIV Tour, reaching 16 titles(individual and team combined).
Rahm currently leads the LIV Golf Individual Rankings. Aside from the Masters. He has maintained the top spot in the LIV Golf Individual Rankings through high-placing finishes.
With two wins and three runner-up finishes, Rahm has clearly overcome the slump of his 2025 season where he did not win any individual events.
Prior to his win in Mexico City, Rahm also secured victory at LIV Golf Hong Kong in early March, winning by three strokes.
He also finished as runner-up in Riyadh, Adelaide, and South Africa. His fifth-place finish at LIV Golf Singapore was also a commendable performance.
