With the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black just days away, Keegan Bradley has provided an early glimpse into his potential pairings.
With a reworked squad from 2023, Bradley faces plenty of choices, and there is pressure on him to get things right straight away.
While the European side seems pretty much set, the Americans still have a few things to sort out. Bradley may need to mix things up early on to see what works best for his group.
There has been talk leading up to this week about Scottie Scheffler potentially teaming up with Bryson DeChambeau in what would be a high-profile duo. But Monday’s practice round shows the captain is considering a different option.
There is plenty of quality in this US side, and you would think most combinations could work well together.
But as the players get their first look at Bethpage Black, Bradley has opted for a few pairings that might raise an eyebrow or two.
And for those hoping to see Scheffler and DeChambeau together, it does not appear that pairing will happen straight away.
This Monday, golf writer Martin Dempster revealed DeChambeau is currently being grouped with Justin Thomas, Ben Griffin and Cam Young.

The only people who know for sure how Friday will start for Team USA are Keegan Bradley and his vice-captains, but that has not stopped fans and pundits from weighing in.
Former player Tripp Isenhour has already shared his picks, though they do not match up with what we are hearing so far. He was hoping to see Bryson and Scottie together.
“I love throwing Scheffler and DeChambeau together. That’s a tough out! You throw them out first. First of all, you can put anybody with Scottie in four-ball, in foursomes you have to be a little more discreet but you still have a lot of leeway as a captain when you put somebody with Scottie Scheffler.
“I think Cantlay and Schauffele. They are good friends and they are tough. I know Xander has not driven the ball as well this year, but he is driving the ball better and he is doing everything else fine. Cantlay is that guy, we saw what he did against Rory in singles.
“Then I love Justin Thomas and Sam Burns. I really like the combination, of putting Justin with a really, really good putter in Sam Burns. I think that would be a great one.”
Scheffler is expected to lead off for Team USA, but after that, things get less clear.
No matter who starts things off for Team USA, Friday promises an electric atmosphere at Bethpage Black as fans get ready for another Ryder Cup filled with drama between two evenly matched teams on paper.
