Man reported missing after LIV Golf Greenbrier event

News involving last weekend's LIV Golf Greenbrier event has taken a turn with reports surfacing on Monday that a man in attendance has been missing since the tournament.

Police are currently searching for 39-year-old Jarred Schultz of Barboursville, W.V., who was reportedly at the Greenbrier for the second-to-last LIV Golf event of the season. According to a social media post by the Lewisburg Police Department, Schultz was last seen around 11:40 p.m.

Golf Digest adds that Schultz was last seen talking on the phone outside of the Brier Patch Bar & Grill near a Super 8 motel, where Schultz and his friends were reportedly staying.

A social media post on Sunday stated that the last known contact was a text Schultz sent at 12:39 a.m. on Sunday, roughly an hour after he was last seen. It has not been revealed what he said in the text message.

WVNS 59 News in West Virginia reported on Monday that "the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources, WV State Police, WV Division of Corrections, Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office and Lewisburg Fire Department are reportedly working with the police department in the investigation. Phone pings, thermal imaging, a bloodhound, and drones are being utilized in the search."

As of Monday, no foul play has been suspected in his disappearance.
