Marco Penge is one of the most exciting new members of the PGA Tour in 2026.
The 27-year-old Englishman earned his PGA Tour card in 2025 through his play on the DP World Tour, and he’ll be seen in some of the biggest events of the season.
Penge won the Spanish Open to qualify for The Open Championship and The Masters, so he can test his ability on two of the biggest stages of the season at Augusta National and Royal Birkdale.
Don’t let his slim frame deceive you, Penge is a long-hitting powerhouse of a golfer who can compete for distance with the likes of Rory McIlroy off the tee. And he’s eyeing a certain course on the PGA Tour that he thinks will ideally suit his game.
Penge will play at Augusta National and TPC Sawgrass this year, but the course that he thinks will best suit his game is Quail Hollow, the host of the 2025 PGA Championship. That event was won by Scottie Scheffler last year, but it typically rewards long hitters off the tee.
Speaking to reporters before the Farmers Insurance Open, Penge was asked which events he’s most looking forward to this season. He replied, Yeah, every week I’m obviously looking forward to, you know, playing in The Players, and obviously I’ve qualified for the Masters, that will be cool.
“Yeah, there’s tons on the list. I’m looking forward to hopefully going back to Quail Hollow. I played the PGA there last year, and I really like that course, and I felt like it suited my game really well.
“Yeah, like I said at the start, my first four weeks out here is a pretty good run of venues and tournaments. I’m just super excited to experience what it’s like over here, and looking forward to engaging with the Americans, as obviously I’m not used to that.”
Penge’s first four PGA Tour events will be played at Torrey Pines, TPC Scottsdale, Pebble Beach, and Riviera. That’s a list of incredible venues for him to start with. But the Truist Championship at Quail Hollow is the one he’s waiting for.
The only time Penge has played at Quail Hollow in the past was a breakthrough performance at last year’s PGA Championship.
Making his debut at the venue, Penge recorded a highly respectable T28 finish, ending the tournament at 1-under par. By doing so, he introduced himself to the golfing world in spectacular fashion.
To return to the course in 2026, Penge will have to qualify for the Truist Championship, a Signature Event. And he’s in a strong position to do so.
His 2025 season on the DP World Tour earned Penge a full PGA Tour card for this season. He won three times on the tour, including his memorable victory at the Spanish Open, which qualified him for The Masters and The Open.
He’ll be playing at The Players Championship and at Pebble Beach, and since he’s currently ranked 29th in the Official World Golf Rankings, he’s in a great position to qualify for future Signature Events.
Penge was forced to withdraw from the Sony Open due to a viral illness, but he says he’s recovered and is itching to get to work. So if he can take advantage of playing in the biggest events of the early season schedule, Penge will be set to tear it up at Quail Hollow again.
