Nelly Korda has taken the LPGA Tour by storm, firmly holding the World No. 1 ranking and turning heads at events like the U.S. Women’s Open. Known for her calm presence and incredible swing, the 26-year-old has already won multiple major titles and continues to shine as one of the biggest stars in women’s golf. While her professional life is an open book, her personal life remains more guarded, especially when it comes to her boyfriend, NHL player Andreas Athanasiou.
Though neither Korda nor Athanasiou have publicly confirmed their current status, they were first linked in 2019. That year, the couple reportedly debuted their relationship with a Thanksgiving selfie, which has since been deleted. Since then, they’ve kept things lowkey, rarely appearing in public or sharing each other on social media.
Athanasiou, who plays center for the Chicago Blackhawks, even has a private Instagram with no posts.
Still, there have been sweet moments. In 2021, Athanasiou was seen celebrating with Korda after her win at the Meijer LPGA Classic. The two shared a hug and kiss, with Andreas telling reporters per People, “She played so well… I’m so happy for her.”

Korda also showed support in 2022 by donning a Blackhawks jersey during a tournament in Canada while Andreas watched nervously from the crowd. “I don’t really like watching, I get pretty nervous behind the shot,” he admitted.
A career-best! @NellyKorda cards her lowest-ever score at the U.S. Women's Open with a blistering 67 (-5) on Friday.

While Athanasiou plays hockey, the two enjoy golfing together, though he jokes he only competes with her for the first nine holes. Their rare but supportive appearances continue to fuel speculation that they’re still an item. Though they prefer to keep things private, fans still can’t help but root for the golf-hockey couple.
