Odds on Tiger Woods to win the Masters getting shorter

The calendar has officially changed to March, which means we are that much closer to watching the pros at Augusta National vie for the Masters. It also means that the odds for who will rock the green jacket this April have shifted yet again -- and everyone's favorite five-time Masters winner has an even better chance now of winning the event.

After an impressive return at The Genesis Invitational, Tiger Woods' odds for the 2023 Masters continue to improve. Since finishing T-45 at Riviera Golf Club, Woods has gone from 62-1 odds to 50-1 odds and has now improved to 40-1 odds at BetMGM to the 2023 Masters.

Some sportsbooks even have Woods listed at shorter odds than that.

Sure, it's unlikely Woods will catapult to the top of the list to be a favorite with the likes of Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy and defending Masters champ Scottie Scheffler. However, it is impressive to see his chances improve after his return to the links a couple weeks ago -- especially since it isn't clear whether he will compete again with the top talent in the world before heading to Georgia this spring.

Speaking of the top spot on the odds list, Rahm still holds the coveted position at 7-1 to win this year's Masters according to BetMGM. Former favorite McIlroy is listed at 8-1 and Scheffler is at 12-1 to win a green jacket in consecutive years.

The Masters tees off on Thursday, April 6.
