PGA Tour Announces Multiple Updates Ahead of the 3M Open

The 3M Open is all set to tee off tomorrow, July 25, at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota. With the PGA Tour season nearing its conclusion, this tournament carries extra weight. Only two events remain before the top 70 players move on to the FedEx Cup Play-Offs in August, so the pressure is on. The 3M Open offers players one last chance to rack up crucial points in hopes of securing a spot in the postseason.

TPC Twin Cities, designed by Arnold Palmer in collaboration with Minnesota native Tom Lehman, has been the home of the 3M Open since 2019. Nestled about 15 miles north of Minneapolis, the course is the northernmost venue on the Tour’s calendar.

Known for its large bentgrass greens, water hazards on 11 holes, and strategic bunkering, the course has been toughened in recent years to challenge the Tour’s best.

As the tournament approaches, there have been several updates to the field. Since Friday’s 5 p.m. ET deadline, a wave of withdrawals and replacements have reshaped the lineup.

On Friday, Tim Widing withdrew, and Will Gordon took his place. Saturday saw Ryan Gerard, Brian Campbell, and Thomas Detry withdraw, with Joseph Bramlett, Dylan Wu, and Pierceson Coody stepping in. Sunday brought new entries, including Haotong Li, Coody again via sponsor exemption, and fellow sponsor picks Chez Reavie, Chesson Hadley, Carson Herron, and Preston Stout.

On Monday, Rikuya Hoshino withdrew and was replaced by Taylor Montgomery, while Stephan Jaeger also withdrew. Max Herendeen joined as a sponsor exemption.

One of the most talked-about groups heading into Round 1 features Rickie Fowler, Tony Finau, and Taylor Pendrith. They’ll tee off Thursday at 8:29 a.m. ET and again Friday at 1:54 p.m. ET. After a rough few weeks that included a withdrawal due to illness, Fowler will be looking to reset and make a strong push in Minnesota.
