The PGA Tour released its schedule and list of prize money for the 2022-23 season on Monday, and one thing is for sure: Everything is getting a makeover.
The 2022-23 season boasts 44 official regular-season tournaments, including the four majors and three FedEx Cup playoff events. Most notably, next season includes a record $415 million in prize money for official events, with another $145 million in bonuses, as well as $75 million for the FedEx Cup.

The big rise in prize money is, of course, a response to the LIV Golf Invitational which has drawn some of the biggest names in golf away from the PGA Tour and DP World Tour because it offers obscene amounts of money on a significantly paired down schedule with no cuts. The Saudi Arabia-funded breakaway league announced plans of its own for its sophomore season last week, saying it will expand its series to 14 events and offer $405 million in prize money.
Another big difference for the PGA Tour next season is that only the top 70 golfers will compete in the FedEx Cup playoff event at the St. Jude Championship before the field continues to decrease through the playoffs toward the Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, which will only feature 30 golfers.
