PGA Tour Gives Scottie Scheffler's Golf Status a Big Nod on Monday

Who's stopping Scottie Scheffler? The golf star is now just a U.S. Open title away from completing a career grand slam after he topped the field at The Open Championship at Royal Portrush in Portrush, Northern Ireland.

On Monday, Scheffler shared his first personal Instagram post after claiming the Claret Jug, reflecting on the incredible achievement he just pulled off across the pond.

"A W across the pond - this one is special! Sitting in so much gratitude for both the game of golf and my friends, family, and team," the 29-year-old Scheffler wrote.

His post has since garnered a ton of attention from fans and personalities in the golf world, including none other than the PGA Tour itself.

"Major No. 4 for World No. 1 ," the PGA Tour commented.

There is no denying the incredible season (and career) that Scheffler is having.

So far in the 2025 PGA Tour campaign, he has gone 16-for-16 with 13 top-10s and 16 top-25s. His win at Royal Portrush was his fourth PGA Tour title of the season, as he previously ruled THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson, PGA Championship and the Memorial Tournament. A two-time Masters Tournament champion, Scheffler can complete a career slam as soon as the 2026 edition of the U.S. Open.

Dating back to the Texas Children's Houston Open in March, Scheffler has now finished inside the top 10 in 11th straight PGA Tour starts.

Scheffler, who also tops the FedExCup standings with 4,806 points, finished The Open Championship with a 17-under 267 score, edging runner-up Harris English and third-placer Chris Gotterup.
