PGA Tour Sends Five-Word Message on Scottie Scheffler

Scottie Scheffler has been nearly unstoppable over the past month. Since May 4, the World No. 1 has racked up three victories in just four PGA Tour starts,  winning the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, the PGA Championship, and the Memorial Tournament. The only time he didn’t lift a trophy during that stretch was at the Charles Schwab Challenge, where he still managed a T4 finish.

With that kind of dominance, Scheffler’s win streak naturally sparked comparisons. But no one expected the comparison to come from a Major League Baseball team.

Enter the Colorado Rockies. Amid one of the worst seasons in modern MLB history, the Rockies found themselves being mocked after fans realized Scheffler, an individual golfer, had more wins than their entire team over the same time period.

But after sweeping the Miami Marlins this week and grabbing their third win since June 2, the Rockies decided to poke fun at the viral stat.

“Wins since June 2: Colorado Rockies - 3, Scottie Scheffler - 0,” they tweeted on June 4.

To this, the PGA Tour tweeted, “Scottie enjoying his week off .”

Though the Rockies' social media team embraced the humor, it's worth noting they still sit at the bottom of the MLB standings. And with Scheffler teeing it up soon at the U.S. Open, it might not be long before he regains the lead in this unusual rivalry.

For now, it is for sure that the winner of the Memorial Tournament is enjoying his week off.
