Every time Scottie Scheffler steps onto the course, it feels like another record is about to fall.

His 2025 season has already been remarkable. Five wins, including two majors, a Signature Event, and a FedEx Cup event, tell the story of a player in complete control of his game.

This week sees the Texas native playing the Procore Championship in Napa Valley, and he is eyeing up what would be his sixth win of the year.

Scheffler was also a key reason why Team USA are playing in this event. His influence within the group continues to grow.

He has led by example with his professionalism and approach since arriving in California.

He fell just short of breaking 70 for a record 22nd straight round on Thursday.

But he bounced back quickly with rounds of 68 and 64 to follow up his opening two-under effort, and has put himself right back into contention again for another mark.

Scheffler is closing in on a bit of PGA Tour history, and he does not even need to win the event to do it.

If he finishes inside the top eight again, he will break Ben Hogan’s long-standing record of 14 straight top-eight finishes. That consistency across different courses and conditions is something few have ever managed.

Scheffler heads into the final round sitting two shots off the lead held by Ben Griffin.

There are three players tied for ninth at nine-under, so barring something unusual, the world number one should have little trouble staying inside the top eight.

Scottie Scheffler’s incredible PGA Tour run stretches back to March

Scheffler has gone six months without finishing outside the top eight on the PGA Tour, dating back to his T20 at the Players Championship in March.

Since then, he has put together an astonishing run of consistency.

Tournament Scheffler’s finish Score to par
Texas Open T-2 -19
The Masters 4 -8
RBC Heritage T-8 -12
CJ Cup Byron Nelson 1 -31
PGA Championship 1 -11
Charles Schwab Challenge T-4 -8
The Memorial 1 -10
US Open T-7 +4
Travelers Championship T-6 -12
Scottish Open T-8 -9
The Open 1 -17
FedEx St. Jude Championship T-3 -15
BMW Championship 1 -15
Tour Championship T-4 -14

A top-eight finish for Scheffler at the Procore Championship would be a clear indication that we are witnessing true greatness.

It would be a shock if he does not win the tournament, let alone remain in the top eight on the standings.
