In the state of Alabama, football is the rite of passage. At 6-1, 200-pounds, Providence Christian School’s Tyler Sharp is the prep version of Jim Thorpe

He plays running back on offense, linebacker on defense and is the long snapper on special teams. Sharp rarely comes off the field.

On defense, Sharp recorded 64 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, seven sacks, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries. Against Highland Home, Sharp posted 13 tackles. In the game against Long, Sharp recorded three sacks.

When the Eagles (9-3) had the ball, Sharp gained 18 total touchdowns last season, with multiple touchdowns scored in a game four times.

Against Abbeville, Sharp rushed for a season-high 116 yards, scored four touchdowns and averaged a first down every time he touched the ball.

Sharp, the brother of LSU TE Bauer Sharp, is the team leader and plays angry. He has a high football IQ and excels with pre-snap reads and knowing coverages.

Sharp puts in the work to get better every day and will outwork and outhustle anyone on the field. College coaches should take notice.

The Godfather of Recruiting, Mike Farrell, had this to say about Sharp,

“2026 Verified 3-star LB Tyler Sharp very good talented, very physical, and can blitz and chase. Good size and works in space. Coaches pay attention.”—Mike Farrell
