There are certain golf tournaments throughout the PGA Tour schedule that get more attention than others, with events like The Masters and the U.S. Open often dominating the landscape. But as far as non-major championships go, the Waste Management Phoenix Open, held on Super Bowl weekend every year, certainly takes the cake.
This tournament draws the biggest fanfare and the most attention, bringing on on average 500,000 spectators throughout the weekend. PGA stars get up for the event as well, often dressing up for the occasion.
That was the case for Rickie Fowler on Thursday during the opening round. Fowler turned some heads early on, wearing camouflage from head to toe. It was a hilarious look in contrast to the bland and boring polo shirt and khakis that other players were wearing.
It got even funnier when Fowler had to climb into some bushes midway through the round to hit one of his shots.

Can you even see him in there?
This isn't the first time that Fowler has gone rogue with his clothing on the tour. Earlier in his career, he was known for rocking bright orange from head to toe, and often wearing popping colors like pink, purple, or yellow.
Putting the camouflage to the test was a hilarious site, though, and the image of him standing in a bush spread like wildfire throughout the golf social media world.

Despite his cool clothing, Fowler had a tough day on the course, shooting a 3-over 74 in the first round. The leader of the tournament after the first day is Wyndham Clark, who shot a 7-under 64. There are two other golfers — Taylor Moore and Lee Hodges — tied for second place at 6-under.
