Ted Scott, the caddie of Scottie Scheffler, has made a substantial amount of money in 2025. According to Golf Digest, Scott has earned $1.92 million working with the world’s No. 1 golfer. That’s more than the average PGA Tour pro, who earns $1.73 million.
Golf Digest shared this after Ted Scott helped Scottie Scheffler win The Open Championship this past weekend. Scheffler earned a $3.1 million paycheck, and Sports Casting says they typically earn between $1,500 and $3,000 per week along with a bonus paid as a percentage of the golfer’s overall winnings. It’s likely Scott earns around $3,000 per week, and if he received 10 percent of Scheffler’s winnings from The Open Championship, he likely received a total of $313,000.

According to the PGA Tour Money List, Scheffler has earned $19.2 million this year. Along with winning The Open Championship, he won the PGA Championship in May and now has four major championships in his career. Scheffler earned $3.42 million for his PGA Championship win, $4 million for winning the Memorial Tournament in June and $1 million for finishing fourth in the Masters in April.
After looking at how much Scheffler has earned this year, it’s not too surprising to see Scott collecting close to $2 million. The partnership between Scheffler and Scott seems to be working well, but it almost didn’t happen. In the third season of Netflix’s Full Swing, Scott explained how he became Scheffler’s caddie.
“I think Bubba [Watson] and I had spent so much time together, we really weren’t growing anymore,” Scott told Netflix, per Golf.com. “So I was like, ‘I kind of just want to move on and do something else.’ Basically, a friend of mine approached me and said, ‘You’re about to receive a phone call from a really good player. This guy is really good. Like really good.’ I had never really met Scottie other than that we played with him in the New Orleans tournament and I saw that he was kind of fiesty, you know? That was one of the questions that I asked him when he called me.
“I said, ‘I don’t know if I want to work for you because of your attitude.’ When I posed that question to him, he said, ‘That’s a fair question and I’m willing to work on it.’ All I need is a little bit of hope and I’m willing to get behind anybody. So I decided to take the job and here we are.”
