Scottie Scheffler does it again. He made waves in the golf world once more as he captured the 2025 PGA Championship title at the prestigious Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, triumphing over a formidable field and solidifying his place among the game's elite. Scheffler’s historic win marked his third major championship victory, a milestone that further entrenches his status as one of the top players in the sport.

Entering the tournament with the pressure of expectations from contending against many top-tier golfers, Scheffler rose to the occasion with remarkable poise. His journey through the PGA Championship culminated with a final score of 11-under par, thanks to an impressive total of 273 over four rounds, which included rounds of 69-68-65-71. In the final round, Scheffler faced early challenges but ultimately sealed his victory with a steady performance that showcased his resilient mindset.

After a thrilling third round where he shot a stunning 65, Scheffler entered the final day with a comfortable lead. However, as he navigated the Quail Hollow during the final round, he found himself struggling early on. The front nine saw Scheffler hitting only two of his first seven fairways and finishing at two-over 37.

A turning point in his round came on the 10th hole, where he made a crucial 9-foot birdie putt.

This putt rekindled his momentum, propelling him forward and allowing him to extend his lead. Scheffler followed up with vital birdies on the 14th and 15th holes, giving him a solid cushion as he approached the course's challenging finish, colloquially known as the “Green Mile.”

Jon Rahm, one of Scheffler’s closest competitors during the tournament, faltered down the stretch, significantly sabotaging his score on the tournament's final holes. Rahm's five-over finish on the last three holes opened the door for Scheffler to cruise to victory, culminating in a five-stroke lead over Harris English and Bryson DeChambeau, who tied for second place.

Post-victory, Scheffler expressed his elation, noting, "This back nine will be one that I remember for a long time. It was a grind out there. I think at one point on the front, I maybe had a four- or five-shot lead, and making the turn, I think I was tied for the lead. So to step up when I needed to the most, I'll remember that for a while."

As Scheffler hoisted the Wanamaker Trophy, the roar from the crowd and the celebrations that ensued solidified his connection to the game. Fans celebrated not only his victory but the return of a multi-major champion who is currently redefining the future of golf.

What's On Tap at the Tee Box?

Scheffler’s third major comes against the backdrop of what is turning into yet another remarkable season. Despite a slow start to the season following an offseason ravioli-making incident that kept the World No. 1 off the course for a few weeks, it feels like we are right back to where we were last year once again—seeing Scheffler's name at or near the top of the leaderboard on any given Sunday.

While the golf betting crowd may curse his name from time to time (sorry, Jack)....

One thing is becoming increasingly evident. We are witnessing a generational player in the sport.
