Scottie Scheffler came from worst to best during the 2026 Masters. The No. 1 player on the PGA Tour had to fight back to enter the final round of the tournament with chances to compete with the leaders, Rory McIlroy and Cameron Young.

As unlikely as it looked, Scheffler did it and put himself in a good position to win his third green jacket. As great as he is on the course, Scheffler is also passionate about other stuff. He has expressed his love for his family over and over, while also praising public figures.

Scheffler hasn’t been shy about his admiration for President Donald Trump, even though that has granted him criticism.

During the Ryder Cup press conference last year, Scottie Scheffler didn’t mince words when talking about Trump, an avid golf fan.

“He just loves the game of golf,” Scheffler said. “And he’s one of those guys when you’re around him, he does such a good job of, like, feeding confidence into everybody around him.

“That was one of the things I noticed a lot with the little bit of time I spent with him, is he treats everybody the same and treats people with the utmost respect. Whether you’re the person serving us lunch or the caddie on the golf course or the guy who’s the president of the club that we’re at, he treats everybody like they’re the greatest person in the world.

“I don’t think he has any plans to address us as a team, but I’m sure if things go well, we’ll hear from him this week.”

Trump loves the sport so much that he reportedly wants to become a member of Augusta National. Not everybody is happy about that possibility, and it’s unclear whether he will be accepted as a member.
