Scottie Scheffler made headlines again this weekend, clinching his first Claret Jug at Royal Portrush with a composed final-round 68. The World No.1 held off Harris English by four shots, adding The Open to his growing list of major wins.
Having also won the PGA Championship earlier this season, Scheffler now only needs the U.S. Open to complete the career Grand Slam, something only six men in golf history have achieved.
But it wasn’t just Scheffler taking home a big check. His caddie, Ted Scott, walked away with a serious payday too. With Scheffler earning $3.1 million for the win, Scott’s standard 10% cut brought him $310,000 for the week. That bumps his 2025 earnings into the $1.6 to $2 million range putting him around 60th on the PGA Tour’s money list if he were a player.
Scott, who once caddied for Bubba Watson during two Masters wins, joined Scheffler in 2021. The two were introduced through a Bible study session after Scheffler had partnered with Watson at the Zurich Classic. “I just think the world of him as a person,” said Scheffler. “That’s why I was attracted to him.”
Their partnership almost didn’t happen. “I said, ‘I don’t know if I want to work for you because of your attitude,’” Scott recalled on Netflix’s Full Swing. But Scheffler owned it, saying, “That’s a fair question, and I’m willing to work on it.”
Ted Scott would be roughly 60th on this years pga tour money list.

That is how good Scottie Scheffler is playing.
Clearly, he did. Since then, they’ve won two Masters, a PGA and now The Open. With Ted Scott’s calm demeanor and sharp course management, they’ve become one of the most dominant player-caddie duos in recent memory.
And with each win, both are building more than just a legacy, they’re stacking serious checks.
