Scottie Scheffler has become such a machine over the past few years that he's willing to sacrifice a major titles.
Last weekend, Scheffler finished at 17-under-par to win the Open Championship. According to ESPN, he became the fourth player in Open Championship history to shoot a 68 or better in all four rounds. With that said, he's now a U.S. Open title away from completing the career Grand Slam.
"It's taken a lot of work - not only a lot of work, but it takes a lot of patience. It's a high level of focus over 72 holes of a tournament," Scheffler said. "This was, I felt like, one of my best performances mentally."
Despite how great Scheffler's performance was at Royal Portrush, he's willing to sacrifice that championship.
During an appearance on the "Pardon My Take" podcast, Scheffler was asked if he'd give up a major championship to see the Dallas Cowboys win the Super Bowl.
The University of Texas alum replied, "Gosh, I don't know. I would trade one, for sure, for a Super Bowl."
Scheffler, 29, has dealt with plenty of disappointing losses as a Cowboys fan. We can't blame him for wanting to secure a Super Bowl title.
"I've been rooting for a Super Bowl for a long time as well," Scheffler said. "A lot of hard work has gone into cheering on the Boys."
The Cowboys haven't won a Super Bowl since 1995. Scheffler has been patiently waiting for the drought to end, but clearly his patience is running thin.
