Scottie Scheffler is having a rough weekend at the Ryder Cup, but the American golfer and his caddie Ted Scott are looking for a fresh start on Sunday.
Entering the final day at Bethpage Black, Europe leads the United States 11.5 to 4.5, the largest lead in the history of the current match play format.
Scheffler also made unfortunate history for his individual performance. He is the first player to start 0-4 through the first four sessions at the Ryder Cup since 1967. He will go head-to-head with Rory McIlroy on Sunday at 12:35 p.m. ET.
As the final day approached, Scheffler's caddie took to Instagram to post a public apology to Francesco Molinari for his actions as things got out of hand on Saturday.

“We had a heated moment yesterday, but what many of you don’t realize is that we got over it by the time we walked off the 16th tee," Scott said with Molinari by his side Sunday morning.
"Ultimately, I just want to spread love and joy," he said. "It’s a great competition, it’s great fun, and this is a great man right here. Just want to say I’m sorry to you, brother.”
On a day when vulgar comments from American fans toward McIlroy and his family stole headlines, Scott was not proud of his own verbal exchange with Molinari at the 16th that took attention away from the action on the course.
On the 16th, Justin Rose asked Scheffler/DeChambeau caddie to step back from his eyeline before sinking his putt.

"Neither one of us want to make this competition about us," Scott said. "We want to let the players go out there and do their thing. Obviously Team Europe is kicking our butts, but hopefully today we can make it a little more equal and make it more of a competition and give the fans what they want."
