Scottie Scheffler is on the cusp of wrapping up the fourth major championship of his career at The Open Championship.
Scheffler, who won the PGA Championship in May and has victories at the 2022 and 2024 Masters, currently leads the field by four strokes with 10 holes to play at Royal Portrush. The 29-year-old Texan shot a seven-under 64 on Friday and then seized the lead for good Saturday; so far today, he's shown no signs of even making it remotely interesting for any other players.
As always, Scheffler has the support of his Meredith and son Bennett, who turned 1 earlier this year. Following Scheffler's most recent win, at The Memorial in early June, he had a funny moment with Bennett that went viral.
As Scheffler exited the course to celebrate with his family, Meredith handed him their son and warned him, in earshot of the CBS cameras, that the boy "has poop all over his back."
"That'll happen," Scheffler quipped, as the camera showed young Bennett with a brown stain on the back of his onesie.

All the dads out there who saw the exchange probably nodded knowingly. Even the world's No. 1 ranked golfer has to handle a poop-covered baby every so often.
Scheffler, who married Meredith in 2020, has made it clear many times how important his family is.
The 16-time PGA Tour winner had a memorable dialogue with reporters before this weekend's tournament, where he pondered "the point" of it all and said that winning in golf is "not a fulfilling life" when compared to the relationship he has with his family.
"This is not the be-all and end-all. This is not the most important thing in my life. That's why I wrestle with, why is this so important to me? Because I'd much rather be a great father than I would be a great golfer. That's what's more important to me," he said.
Scheffler seems to be doing pretty well in both areas these days.
