The Texas Tech Red Raiders men’s golf team hopes to improve on its lackluster fall performance as the 2025 Season is at its doorstep.
As the 2024 season came to an end, the Red Raiders looked to improve on a fall season that by all standards was disappointing as the team could only manage to finish fifth place in the four-tournament Fall campaign.
The first event of the year, the Amer Ari Intercollegiate in Hawaii, Feb. 6-8, will feature some of the best teams in college golf. The warm weather, tough Bermuda grass and high expected winds will certainly pose a challenge to the players.
From Hawaii to back to the mainland, the team embarks on another challenge as they compete in The Prestige at PGA West in La Quinta California. The event will again feature a great field and low scores will be needed as the Greg Norman PGA West course lends for many scoring opportunities.
The Red Raiders will need to lean on pre-season All-American and senior Calum Scott as his team will be the youngest in recent memory. Charlie DeLong the only other senior on the team should create much-needed stability as the rooster is filled out with three freshmen and three sophomores.
Getting off to a solid start on the west coast for the Red Raiders team is key, confidence and creating a solid rotation will be paramount as the team makes a run for the NCAA Championship at La Costa Resort and Spa in May.
