Tiger Woods has one of the worst rounds of his career at PGA Championship

Tiger Woods finished the third round at the 2022 PGA Championship nine strokes over par, making it his second-worst round ever at a major. The only round worse in his career was an 81 (10 over) at the 2002 Open Championship.

Woods, 46, had a shaky first round Thursday and complained of leg pain, but bounced back with a one-under-par performance Friday to make the cut. That momentum didn't carry into Saturday with Woods shooting 41 through the front nine and 38 on the back nine.

His shots found the water twice in the first six holes, including on the par-three sixth hole where he finished with a triple bogey. Woods also had a stretch of five consecutive bogeys beginning on the ninth hole when he embedded a shot into the lip of the bunker.

Woods, who suffered a severe right leg injury during a car crash last February, appeared to struggle at times while walking the course.

While the round was among the worst of Woods' storied career, he limited the damage by finishing with a birdie and four bogeys on the last five holes.
