Tiger Woods: 'Who? Me, retire? No, no, no, no. I'm not retiring'

Golf diehards and casual sports fans alike were thrilled to watch living legend Tiger Woods compete in this year's Masters tournament roughly 14 months after a career-threatening car accident nearly cost him at least his leg. With that said, it's understandable some would wonder ahead of this week's Open Championship at St. Andrews if Woods is considering riding off into the sunset.

As Logan Reardon explained for NBC Sports Chicago, Woods had a lengthy and concerning injury history before the February 2021 wreck, and the 15-time major champion will turn 47 years old before the end of the year. Nevertheless, Woods insisted while speaking with Sky Sports on Tuesday that he's not done yet even if he'll ultimately play less than he did before a couple of winters ago.

"Who? Me, retire? No, no, no, no. I'm not retiring," Woods remarked. "But not playing a full schedule, that's just my reality. I don't like it, but I just have to accept it.

"As far as retiring, no. But this may be my last chance I'll be playing at St. Andrews with a chance to compete at the highest level. If it comes around in five, six, seven or eight years' time, whatever the time frame is, who knows if I'll be playing the game of golf at this level? I appreciate every single moment, especially coming back here."

Also on Tuesday, Woods lashed out at those who have embraced playing in the LIV Golf Series. He reportedly rejected a "mind-blowingly enormous" offer said to be "nine digits" to join the Saudi Arabia-funded league.
