For the third time in four years, Tiger Woods was named the winner of the PGA Tour's Player Impact Program (PIP), according to a report from Sports Business Journal on Monday morning. The Player Impact Program was established in 2020-21 to financially compensate the circuit's brightest stars, biggest needle-movers, and players who generate the most positive interest in the PGA Tour.
Tiger Woods topped the final PGA Tour PIP rankings in 2024, followed by Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy ⛳

Even though he only appeared in five PGA Tour events this season, Woods, who turned 49 on Dec. 30, received $10 million for winning the 2024 PIP. The 15-time major champion made the cut just once in his five starts, finishing T60 at the Masters. Woods was forced to withdraw from The Genesis Invitational in February and missed the cut at professional golf's other three major championships.
World No. 1, PGA Tour Player of the Year, and two-time Masters champion Scottie Scheffler finished second in the PIP standings, raking in a handsome $8 million. Rory McIlroy, the 2023 PIP winner, finished third and collected $4.5 million. Xander Schauffele, Jordan Spieth, and Collin Morikawa also netted $4.5 million, while Shane Lowry, Justin Thomas, Tommy Fleetwood, and Wyndham Clark each received $3.5 million.
The Player Impact Program will be retired after four years by the PGA Tour, with the Player Equity Program (PEP) taking over for the 2025 season. The Player Equity Program now makes all PGA Tour members eligible for recurring equity grants, and the program will provide a recurring $100 million annual grant through 2030.
According to a memo received by SBJ, the grant will be divided up to "approximately 20 top performers each year based on last three-year performance, last year performance, as well as measurement criteria that have been used in the Player Impact Program.”
I'll make a bold prediction... Tiger Woods will be the first winner of the Player Equity Program in 2026.
