A pair of old Tiger Woods trophies sold for a staggering amount recently. The future 15-time major winner introduced himself to the golf world very early, causing a strong impression on those who watched him play at a young age.

Woods won golf tournaments when he was still in elementary school. Some of those trophies became coveted memorabilia for collectors.

The 50-year-old won two competitions at Heartwell Golf Course (a par-3 track in Long Beach, California) in 1983 and 1984 (when he was 7 and 8 years old, respectively). Those trophies went up for auction.

Both trophies ended up in the hands of Joe Grohman, a “family friend” who first met Woods when he worked as the assistant pro at the Navy Golf Course in Cypress.

On Sunday, the trophies, which were with Grohman for 35 years, went for $52,995.60. The items received 44 bids.

Meanwhile, Woods missed the chance to compete for the 2026 Masters championship after he crashed his SUV and police arrested him for driving under the influence.
